any pro's and con's to putting in disc brakes 444-544

pro's and con's to putting in disc brakes , found a from frame section from a 122 with all the hardware for the swap just didnt want to mess up the what i already have as far as brakes , all mine have been gone throught new cylinders , master rebuilt new shoes and springs , they are still drum brakes , want opinions on if the disc in the front is a better choice , didnt want to change master if i went to the disc any ideas would be great , i have searched the posts and seems like 50 50 as to preference
