RED? 444-544

Hi,
I just recently bought a '65 PV544. I decoded the ID plate and it said the car was originally red. Does anyone know if the original red paint was metallic? The reason I ask is that all of the painted surfaces of the car (under the dash, under the black speckled paint on the engine firewall, interior fire wall, trunck, etc are all sort of a metallic or candy apple red. It would be a major undertaking to repaint a car and include every painted surface, but then I find it hard to believe that Volvo offered a candy apple red car in 1965 also. Anybody know what the original red color looked like?
