Looking to mod my 940 turbo 900 1991

I have 91 940 turbo with 160k on it. I am not very knowledgeable like most here about cars but i am looking to get some more hp out of my car and i have seen some info on the dawes device. What gagues do i have to buy to see my ammount of boost and to make sure that i dont melt my pistons. I already have a turbo gague but it doesnt have numbers on it. Can anyone recomend any other easier modifications that someone with little car knowlege could do. My extent of DIY work has been to change my alternator belt (pain!), change brake pads, oil change.
