ongoing electrical issue alternator charging not 200

I thought I'd try to get the brick running again today. The voltage reading at the alternator is the same as the battery...12.45V. I have replaced the voltage regulator, put on new drivebelts, run a new D+ wire from the grey plug on the firewall to the alternator, checked that the wires are in good shape underneath the dash, all fuses are good, checked for continuity between the cabin side and the alternator. I have noticed that that all of the dash lights; "AMP", "PARKING BRAKE", "BRAKE FAILURE", EGR, EXH stay on except for the OIL light. Also a little peculiar, when I test, with a multimeter for continuity, with one lead on the spade terminal in the grey plug attached to the red wire going through the firewall with all the other wires, and another lead to ground, I get a beep. Does this mean that that wire is grounded somewhere. What is my next step in this disaster of a DIY repair?

Thanks alot
