pulling the head on a B230FT 700 1989

I'm with Joe S. But I prepared a $75 junkyard head that looked new and redone and was in a side impact accident. Took my time . Got a Volvo spring compressor, lapped the valves, cleaned everything, checked valve clearance. Also took a dremel and cleaned rough edges in the flow chambers of the head just to help a smooth delivery of air. When done the car felt great and peppy like it loves to rev up to 5000 effortlessly. It's smoother lighter power delivery than my other turbo. One day I'll do it again with another spare head. It was educational and interesting and inexpensive. If you get with the head refurbishing and head gasket/ timing belt/ radiator & hoses/ renewing you will find a hoard of 150K to 250K Volvos out there begging for work to bring them back to life. Get acquainted. Your old Volvo is dying to empower you...
