High Idle 200 1986

Hi all. I got a faithful 240 Wagon 86. for nearly a month now, its idling around 1400 in neutral and drops to around 900 when shifted to Drive, so it kicks. I've noticed the obvious higher gas consumption and it feels less powerful than before. Any suggestion please?
I used to use mid-grade fuel until about 2 months ago that I just switched to the cheaper gas (due to $$$..), now back to using Mid-grade again since last week.
Just reading up a bit on this site here, makes me suspect O2 sensor or throtle body. but I'm no volvo mechanic so I may be way off. Help point me in the right direction please. thanks

bob
