Update on my 'end of the rod' thread.....

Well in a nutshell, we were burning oil and leaking coolant for some reason.

We had to get the radiator replaced, and did.

Then we were told there was a head gasket seal leak and that would need to be replaced as well but that it would be ok to wait on that until i could get more cash up to bring the car back to the shop.

The leak has since gotten worse, and we went back to the shop yesterday to ask how much the gasket seal replacement would cost.

To which we were then told that "he didnt know" and you have to take it apart and send it away somewhere and they would tell him what was wrong?

(doesnt make sense to me at all thats why im trying to ask around)

He said he wanted to replace the water pump, and see if that would stop the leak?

Is this making any sense?

He then squeezed the water hose and it was soft. (the engine was off)

Im guessing thats a bad thing?

(Im not familiar with this kind of stuff, i just change my oil, brackes, and tires when they need to be changed) lol.
