Ok, assuming she knows how to drive a 240 - i.e. floored all the time - then let's assume that going up those hills she was high in the RPMs with a lot of load on the engine and the heat rising - could it be knocking? What grade of gas is she using? Under those conditions the computer may have pulled the ignition timing to prevent preignition.
