trailer indicator dash light - info wanted 700

I recently acquired a light which is supposed to be a 700 option. It has a picture of a trailer on top and arrows pointing left and right below. It does appear that it would fit in one of the blanks on my dash, but I have no idea how it is supposed to work.

Was this a 700 option?

What exactly would this light tell me when in operation?

Does it plug in with a currently unused plug that is wired in all 700s or only with an optional towing package?

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.
