Ignition/wiring problem? 200 1990

I'm having some odd issues with this 1990 240DL auto wagon (254,000 miles). When I first got it two days ago everything worked pretty much as they should (not the windshield wipers though, I replaced the wiper motor, now it works), but now the rear wiper, hatch brake light and radio don't work. These three thing stopped at the same time. Also when ever I turn the car on (engine starts great everytime) the SRS light stays on and the front wipers dont work. But if I put alittle pressure on the ignition key (it moves alittle less then 1/32 on an inch in) the SRS light goes out and the (front only) wipers work. The radio and rear wipers still do not. I drove over to the IPD tech center and asked what might be the problem. The guy there said to replace the ingition switch. About $129 for the switch. Would this solve the issues? And would I need a new key? Any thoughts for the Volvo newb? Thanks

Tom
