A couple of weeks back to resolve a Crankcase pressure issue, installed a new Breather Box, Flametrap, and orings. Idle was as smooth as it has ever been. But when sitting in gear sometimes the car would suddenly die. With the yet unresolved issues of the starter solenoid that could be bad.
So today pulled everything from the hose in the nose to the throttle body. Found several holes in the folds of the section of hose from the AMM and the Throttle body. Replaced that section, lubed the Constant Air Motor, Cleaned the AMM with that new AMM Cleaner spray, and replaced the air filter. Cleaned the inside of the trottle body with the proper cleaner (nasty brown gunk came out). Checked for any loose vacuum lines, and she purred and I do mean purred back to life. In my seven years with her never knew that Inga could run like that. Betting that the lack of an oring under the breater box was a big part of this.
But she will still suddenly die with the car in gear sitting at a light. Now before all the work the idle was always at 1K and she did not die like this, ever. Now the idle is 800 or just below, does the idle need to be increased? Where do you have your idle speed set, and does this sound like the possible problem? Moved the idle up to close to 1K and will take her our for a late night spin later tonight. But have to wonder if that is all that is the problem.
