Nope,it never ends.
It's just the beginning of the 30 year repair cycle.
Welcome to the world of working antique cars.
And yes they do need to have their vital fluids circulated
on a regular basis,and get their excercise.
Personally,were I in Florida,I would bypass the core,
and not run the fan on high.
