Many Checker, Autozone, O'Reily's types of chain offer a free service of reading engine codes. You just have to drive your car there and ask. You don't have to buy anything from them if you don't want to.

I recommend you have them read the code(s) and report back to us before changing out any parts.

How long have the spark plugs been in? The Volvo 3 prongers work great, but so do the U-groove NGK's, Poolman has been testing some E3's.

I strongly advise against using any engine oil additives like Slick 50, et al. Just use a good quality synthetic like Mobil1 for engine oil and ATF and your engine will thank you.
