Radio/Casette Player 140-160

The radio/casette player in my "93 240 wagon was long ago replaced with a radio/CD player, and the poor, homeless thing has been languishing in the storage compartment in the back for years. If there were a way of installing it in my 142E, I could still get some use out of the boxes full of good jazz and 1970s music casettes I have. Is there a way those radio/casette units can be made to work away from their intended home-base? I have the code, but the best I've been able to get out of it is a buzzing sound.
