Idling problem after manifold gasket change 900 1995

960 3 ltr 1996 model requiring expert advise to help its owner back on the road.
The inlet manifold gasket was leaking so changed this and on starting the engine the idle revs. alternate between 2000 and 1000 revs approx. and continue to do this until the engine is shut off.
Having retraced my steps taken during the gasket change I could not find a cause.
I have checked the following to date and I am struggling ;
The hoses are secure and when the engine is running I cannot hear air being drawn into any hose suggesting it is not vacumm.
I have checked the electrical connections I removed(2) and they seem secure.
I have removed the throttle body, cleaned it and replaced (the body was clean as it sits on top of my manifold (UK) and also the engine is LPG converted although this problem relates to the engine running on either fuel
I have removed and refitted the injector rail to ensure no trapped fuel line etc
I don't have access to either a workshop manual ore diagnostic scanner,
Am I doomed towards the dealers workshop?
Thanking anybody for any imput
Paul
