1997 965. Evil in-cabin smell, then CE light. 900 1997

Car has 161,000 miles. Running Mobil 1 5W-40, changed last week, also a new MANN oil and air filter. New evap valve last month.

Then wife.sig goes 250 miles to a business meeting in Kerrville, TX. She called from Kerrville. Nearest Volvo dealer in San Antonio. Dealer is really not an option at this point.

Symptoms: "Remember I told you for weeks about a bad smell? Well, after a short errand after a few days of car being parked, it was so bad when I got in to go back to the hotel that I could taste it. Drove with the windows down. Then the CE light came on, what should I do?"

My answer (8PM last night) "Go to that Advance Auto Parts tomorrow or ASAP, and see if yoU can get a no-charge scan. Get them to print it out, and call me."

Also, she said that she noticed no change in running or operating. Yes, I am worried about her driving back Friday evening anyway.

So what would you think? Bad smell = bad cat?

Thanks in advance,

Bob
