bent flywheel? what the #%#$?????? 200 1984

hey there, though i'd consult the board before i run out and buy a new flywheel. im currently trying to put my b21ft back in my 245 and am mating the auto tranny to the engine first. it appears my flywheel is bent. that is when i torque it down to the engine it scrapes as i turn the crank. the whole engine was just at the machine shop (i sent it there with the flywheel attached got it back unattached). the crank appears to be straight and the flywheel kind of tips back and forth on the floor if i lay it flat. has anyone here experienced this? i had a sudden thought that maybe when i bolt the flywheel to the torque converter it will straighten out. is that true? or am i hooped and need a new flywheel? if that flywheel is done i can maybe pull the one out of my scrapped '79 242. is the flywheel the same for auto's and manuals? any help is very much appreciated!
alex
