So yesterday I went to the junk yard and found gold!!! haha, it was a very good day on my findings.
Found a corner lens for my dads 240, also found a -951 ecu for his car to replace his -561 because it seems to sometimes shut off when the car is cruising between 65-80mph. But I was super psyched on that find.
Then I also founD another 90 240 with all its injectors, so now I can send those to be refurbished. And I found a perfectly good circuit board for my taillights.
Then as I am leaving, I decide to look in one last car to see if it has any goodies. I see it had its instrument cluster out and I was bummed because I figured the good stuff is gone. But then I see everyting sitting on the flor, turn it over, and I find this is the only car in the whole lot that still has a tachometer!!!!
The main cluster was apart from the black box, but still together in its housing. I remove the three screws on the backside of the tach holding it in place, but then when i tried to remove the tach, it hardly budged. Then i inspected closer and realized there are also two solder marks at the top of the green circuit board holding the tachometer in place.
My question is whether or not it can still be used if i just use a hacksaw or something similar to break the solders to reuse the tach in my car?
It was an 80's 240, not sure on exact year cuz it was no where to be found on the car. But I do know its that style with the duel headlights, and it was a GL.
