17' wheels on 1800ES 1800

185/70-15 were the stock tires on the ES.
That is what I have on my 1970 1800E with stock ES wheels. 185/70-15 are hard to find and very expensive. I'll go with cheaper and readly avaliable 195/65-15 when necessary to buy new ones.
In my experience; you loose wet traction with wide tires, all else being equal of course. I live in SE Texas, wet traction is more important than looking cool.
