Replacement for R-12...any experience w/Freeze 12... 245 '87 200 1997

I am replacing a leaking AC hose in my 87 245.-- R-12 system (now about $70 a pound) I've replaced a number of parts in the past couple of years trying to fix a slow leak...which turned out to be in the hose that crosses the cylinder head. Found this with dye added at the last charge last year. I've had the system evacuated and now need to get it going again as summer is approaching, and here in MD/DC is gets pretty hot n humid.

Rather than do a conversion to R 134A, I've done a web search on alternatives to R-12. I've found two...Freeze 12 and Autofrost, both of which claim to work without a changeover and without having to purge the oil in the system.

Does anyone have any experience with either of these refrigerants. Or is it better to go with the full conversion to R134A. Thanks.

Why oh why don't they make 240s anymore :(
