Oil pressure warning, high rpm weakness 120-130

A couple of questions for y'all (as you say):

1) When accelerating, the oil pressure light glows quite dimly and then almost entirely fades away in a couple of seconds when I leave the engine to idle. Oil level is OK and not dropping fast. What's up with this?

2) I have a single carb B20 (the carb being a Zenith from a B18A, I guess) with the stock iron 4-to-1 intake/exhaust manifold (rather restrictive, obviously) and stock size pipe. Don't know which cam. Can't give you any numbers, but the engine, pulling nicely at low rpms, lacks oomph at mid to high rpm range. (By high, I don't mean very high - I don't like to rev it that much.) Could this be due to the restrictive manifold and undersized(?) carb, due to ignition issues or something else? What should I look for first? Aside from the strange carb/manifold combo, my engine is (concerning the most easily inspectable parts, at least) very stock and, indeed, original.

Thanks very much in advance. Have fun Volvoing!
