whiny tranny AW72L 700

I swapped a used AW72L in to my '90 765Ti wagon after my AW71 died. It's been in almost 6 months and 5000 miles since the swap and it has performed flawlessly, but it whines...especially at low speeds. It's not a "bad sound"...just a whirring that's suspiciously loud. Could this be a 72L "normal" sound? Might it be the torque converter?? Is there any way to tell???
