Exhaust Shroud Rattle Question -1993 245 200

Get big pliers or a pry bar and tear it right off.

Every Volvo shop had a big pile of this sheet metal out back when RWD cars were in their heyday.

The problem is, the shrouds are too stupid to fall off on their own. They all eventually loosen up and make a heck of a racket. There's no problem with removing them from the pipes.

Be aware that if it's been running, both headpipe and cat will be EXTREMELY hot. Gloves needed, at least. And please jack up your car safely. A jack, alone, is not a safe device to support a car over yourself.
