Okay, the solid yellow wire goes on spade A or Spade B? 200 1990

It definitely does not attach to the spedometer. The ribbon wire is the only one that should plug into the spedometer. The spedometer gets its power from pins that insert into the electronics board. Make sure all of those are all plugged into their sockets properly. I think there are 4 pins, three for the spedometer and one for the service light (I took this pin out so I don't have to reset the service light).

The double lug with the rubber band over it is the spedometer output for cruise control. If you have cruise the wire should be black/blue.

The yellow wire is most likely for one of the warning lights. Put your key to the run position. The yellow wire should be for whatever light is not working. It seems to me that it might be the airbag light wire, but thats just a guess from memory.
