Do you mean it just turns over when "jumping the starter?"
Or is it actually running.

I don't know squat about the Crane ignitions, but it seems strange that it would continue to run by just bypassing the ignition switch.

What wires did you disconnect?
Was the car running before you disconnected the wires?
I don't think there are many wires associated with a 122 anyway.
Are you sure the grounds got reconnected?
Etc.
