Learning to love my knocking engine. 1990-240

That is what I am doing with my 89 760 w/190K. The PO was not too meticulous as far as maintenance, so I have nursed it back to it's present condition - knock and all. It just keeps going. One day I may drop a later model B230 turbo in.
One thing I did recently that quieted the lifters, and I know this is a no no in Volvo land - was to use Marvel Mystery Oil at an oil change. It may be a no no, but it really helped free up and quiet the valves, which were louder than the knock I presently endure - lovingly!
