twitchy temp gauge is back 700 1990

90 740 TI

I have a twitchy temp gauge again. It came and went months ago (lasted one day). I thought it was a fluke, but it looks like it's going to die on me soon.

I'm thinking bad solder on the board because of the solder in the relays, but I also imagine it could be the rest of the system, especially the wiring.

The gauge jumps up and down within about the same range (around 1/4, around 1/3, around 1/2) and increases with driving like it should, so it seems like it must be a connection problem. Once I have the car warm and let it sit, if I get back in, sometimes it reads normal temp until it cools again, sometimes not.

Going to take a look at it tomorrow. I'd appreciate some pointers.
