Hi all,
I've got lighting questions. First, my main problem is that I've got two bricks that are having headlight troubles. My brick, an '83 242DL, with the headlights on is really weak on the driver's side and a light blub out light comes on the speedometer area(sry don't know right term there). I can then click on the high beams and ith light bulb out light will go off, but the driver's side is still kinda weak. I just don't get it. But I guess I should add that during my brick's ten year sitting period a roddent chewed through the wire harness that goes to the driver's side lights and then as I was trying to get the car running again I managed to cause a fire in the air intake hose and it also fried the same wire harness! I've changed it out with a 1984 245 donar harness, but still have the problem of weak headlights on drivers' side.
My other brick, which is an '84 245DL is actually my brother's, but it too has weak headlights. But this time itz on the passenger's side. The headlight on the passenger side is out when the headlights are on and will come on when the highbeams are engaged, but itz still kinda weak. I'm guessing I might need to change out the headlight, but I've replaced both headlights on my 242DL on the weak driver's side and itz still weak.
Could the person who posted this on the thread about Mr. Sterns please elaborate on the following,..."I see yours is an '83. A perfect candidate for e-code headlamp assemblies to be substituted for the USA sealed beams" I'd love to more or less upgrade my headlights on both vehicles, but I want to get ride of the weak headlight symptoms first. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks again all!
