Hello,
My 940 Turbo of 1992 (B230F) is equiped with a AW71L automatic drive. The matter is that normally at 102 km/h the lockup has to come in. But random this function failes. It than locks up at apprx. 120km/h but unlocks when no couple is asked. It keeps locking/unlocking at this speed.
I red that it is controlled by pressure in the housing and sometimes a leaking endbush in the drive is the cause of a pressure instability. I don't know if this is the issue and how i can controle this leakage.
There are two pipes leading to the watercooler. I don't know if the oil is cooled or that a water pipe system in the drive takes care for cooling. A second smaller cooler is placed in front of the original watercooler.
I placed an airconditioning system myself in my 940 Turbo. Because my watercooler is equiped with a viscouse coupling fan, i placed the aircocooler in front of the small additionel cooler of the AW71L. I placed the electric ventilator of the airco in front of it all in a selfmade frame. The two ventilators could be in each other ways and disturbe the cooling rate.
Could it be that a reduced coolersystem is the cause of this locking problem of the AW71L.
I want to understand how the AW71L works and what could cause this problem. Is there anyone who have schems or writtings of this AW71L transmission.
Thank you in front for all your information.
Greetings,
Ron
