Q: B230F Red Engine & Spark Plug Indexing 700

Q: B230F Red Engine & Spark Plug Indexing for 1991, 740, and a 1989, 245, both non-turbos

Does indexing the plugs help much on the B230F, for fuel mileage gains, etc.? If yes, I have a few questions:

1. Any accepted agreed upon theory for this particular engine, i.e., electrode facing exhaust valve or electrode facing intake, or other position?

2. Depending on the answer to #1 question, what position is the ground electrode placed at, using a clock face as a reference point, if one is standing at the right side fender looking straight ahead at the plugs?

3. Are new gaskets required? If yes, what thickness - 0.10, 0.080, 0.060, other ?

thanks,
diyer
