FUEL FILTER HELL!!! 200

Ok just tried changing the fuel filter on my 82 245 k-jet and guess what, after starting the car and noticing that it was leaking a bit from the banjo bolt I shut the car off and tried to tighten it a bit more and I punched a damn hole in the stupid thing (22 bucks down the drain) it sprayed fuel everywhere (I cussed while I watched it relieve its pressure) then took it off and had to put the old one back on so I can get to work and get another one tomarrow. The question is, is the fuel pressure the same the whole time the car is running? The old one doesn't leak but I am a bit afraid of the pressure punching a hole in it while im driving, I had to use vice grips on it to break it free and there are some marks on it but it wasn't leaking. What do you guys think, is it gonna start leaking while im driving or do you think im safe for a while because its not leaking at all right now?

Why couldn't they have moved the stupid thing 3 inches to the left so it is more accessible and easier to remove.
