Well,

You fellows were right! The side mount distributor is a direct replacement for the rear mount on the B230FT/B230F motors. I want to thank those that replied to the last post as it encouraged me to look a little further into possible ignition issues before changing back to the Turbo camshaft and distributor.

I found a blown fuse in one of the power supply lines from the battery and after changing that the car fired on the first half turn. The only issue now is a wobble in the distributor cap which needs to be addressed.
