Points melting 120-130

My experience: with points a Bosch red coil (28KVA) with a 0.8 ohms resistor on series overheat after 2 hrs of driving at 4000 rpm or more; a Bosch blue coil (24 KVA, no external resistor) works ok and remain at good temperature (you can touch it after 2 hours at 4000 rpm). Likewise using a MSD5 (a inductive unit, not a CD unit like the MSD6). No experience with other setups.

(I remember some phrase from a old spanish car factory maintenance book "the coil plus resistor will be of 3 ohms or more, but too higher resistance will be affect starting" (that book was published on WWII times, before ignition amplifiers).
