92 240 Overdrive Light 200 1992

I have a 92 240 with 150,000 miles and auto trans. The overdrive off light (the big "up arrow" on the dashboard keeps coming on. By recyling the overdrive switch, sometimes it goes off, sometimes not. I can hear the relay clicking when I turn the switch off and on.

The transmission appears to be shifting properly, could this be just an instrumentation problem.

I took the glove box out to get to the relay and make sure all wires are secured. Although I was able to get to the relay, it appears to be difficult to remove due to the cramped quarters it is in.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
