Cross-Post - 140 Girling Brake Booster for Amazon... Need Advice ASAP 120-130

I'm converting my Amazon to a dual triangular circuit, vacuum boosted 4-disc brake system, largely by salvaging a former 1800E.

I found a 140 style booster stand and had it modified as per Planetman's directions and photos to use a small firewall flange that could be bolted in place of the original master cylinder. After some fruitless searching I found someone who'd sell me a booster and master cylinder from a 1972 145. It would bolt right on to my stand and complete my brake system.

HOWEVER.
I was comparing my 1800 ATE booster to the photos of the 140 girling style booster and realized that the big plastic housing that is normally hidden by the rubber boot has been broken off. So.. no actuating rod and who knows what else. See the photo below...

I can get this whole setup for $50.00 plus shipping (which is a great deal for the parts), but I do not know if the broken part can be repaired or made to work. The seller said he was trying too hard to remove the booster and broke the plastic part...

Anyway, I've not paid for it yet, and I'm concerned about buying an un-salvageable part. It would cost me $40-50.00 to have my booster stand further modified to fit my 1800E coffee-can booster, or I could buy the 140 unit and bolt it on, but have to figure out how to fix the booster (maybe taking the plastic part from the ATE unit? )

Since we are talking about my brakes, I don't want to take stupid chances, but I also do not want to pass up the equipment when it's available. Should I buy the booster and MC, or pass it up and work with my known working equipment?

Also... after fitting my booster stand, I'm not sure that the girling booster would fit with the inner fender wall... Not much clearance there.
