All Lower Driver Side Rear lights Not Working 200 1991

Hi,
I am a college student with a much loved 240. :-) However, I have come across an interesting problem. . .for some reason, all of the rear light on the driver's side EXCEPT the turn signal are not working.

1. Have changed all the blubs
2. I have changed all the sockets
3. I have taken the working sockets out out of the passenger side and put them in the driver side to test it. . .they do not work in the driver side, but the DO WORK again just fine when I put them back in the passenger side.

From what I can tell, all of the rear lights are on the same fuse (driver and passenger side), and so I have assumed it is not a fuse. To double check, I have looked at the fuse (the #5 one down) and it seems fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Katie
