how to remove rear cam seal?

I have an oil leak at the rear cam seal on my 92 240 B230. Does anybody know how to get it out? i have the valve cover off, but i can't see any way to pop the seal out. is there some fancy trick to this?

the only way i see possible is to remove the rear camshaft cap, but the hayne's manual warns that this can cause the camshaft to become misaligned or bent. any advice?

yes, i will clean the flametrap and flametrap plumbing!

thanks, fred
