How to remove the ignition lock on an 81 242 200 1981

I just bought an '81 242 that has something stuck in the key hole. I already bought a used ignition lock and was wondering how I am supposed to remove the one on my car. I have tried searching and havent found anything really helpful.

Is there anyway to just remove the part that you put the key into and replace it? Or do I have to remove the hole thing?
