Fan Clutch or water pump ? 200 1983

The old girl seems to be overheating as the temp gauge is in the 10 or 11 o'clock position, however it never gets into the red. The radiator is only two years old as is the thermostat. The water pump has well over 150K on it and it's not leaking or making any noise and the fan clutch is original.

Could the water pump be bad- do the vanes wear down , how can I tell w/o removing it. How can I test the fan clutch ? Any ideas were to start? Thanks.
