A/C compressor clutch cycling 240 DL 1986 volvo. 200 1986

My 1986 240 DL (B230F engine) a/c compressor clutch cycles on and off. I just had it charged with a full load of R-12. $300 just for the freon.Initally it comes on and cools for about 5 minutes, then it cycles off. When it's on, it has power to the clutch wire. Then it cycles off with no power to the clutch wire. I don't know what to do next. Could it be a faulty low pressure switch? Please give some advice how to trouble shoot it. I've just changed the engine electrical harness due to rotten wires.
