New Arrival 120-130

I've been using a 66' 122 at least 12 hours a week (500 miles) for the past three years. The most enjoyable "upgrades" have been Bilstien shocks and an IPD front swaybar. It didn't seem too important before, but since installed it's been much more comfortable driving in rush hour traffic with a mechanical brake light switch from Ron Kwas - brake lights come on with the slightest touch of the pedal. Oh yeah, don't forget to look into Ron's ignition switch upgrade too. It's no fun having the key break off in the ignition. Swem Volvo Page

That being said, the more important issues for a dependable driver is renewing just about all wear items on major systems like brakes, steering, suspension, ignition, carburetion, etc. It will also become evident that electrical connections will need to be cleaned and/or replaced.

Tinkering is to be expected on a regular basis but (knock on wood) I've never, ever been left stranded over the past 70,000 miles or so driving this amazing car.

Best regards,

Joe M in WV
