non volvo question

this is a 72 pontiac with a flat tappet cam and hydro lifters. Pontiacs are known for having the best oiling systems of all GM products, but i have been reading about major pontiac builders running rotella diesel oil at pretty high weights...like 20w50 I may try that.

P.S. this motor is a real stump puller and bumping up the rpms a few hundred will result in the car accelerating to 40-50mph....peak torque is 3300rpm...she will light up both rears at 1200
