Clutch cable: IPD no, Volvo yes. 200 1985

Just an FYI on clutch cables: In June '06 I bought a cable from IPD for my '85 244 w/M46. The original cable hadn't broke but I thought after 21 years/190K miles it was wise to replace it. Compared to the original, the IPD cable was a bit shorter and thus a bear to install, the adjustment nut was narrower, it was harder to operate, and IT BROKE RECENTLY. IPD said they'd refund me but I'm not sure if they'll include the towing costs.

The Volvo cable cost me only $67 using a 20% off coupon and the end that connects to the pedal (which broke on the IPD one) is visibly much sturdier. It operates really smoothly and it was sufficiently long that installation and adjustment was very easy.

Regards,
Dukester
