544 front disk brakes with 240 rotors? 444-544

Ok, im looking at upgrading to disk brakes on my 62. I have read a couple places of people putting 240 calipers on 120 rotors using late 122 (dual circuit) backing plates. The backing plate would need to be drilled, but that the 240 calipers would bolt on. with the 240 calipers, being dual circuit, could the two circuits be tied together and then T'ed off into the flex? Would this work out? 240 calipers seem to make more sense to me than older 122 calipers? What do you think?

Thanks
Abram
