I bookmarked those guys and will check it out.

The pedal apparatus you mention is known to me. I saved the whole box from the 1800 and I examined it when I extracted the clevis pin to assemble my new actuating rod.

I really don't know about the peal power, but I'm not sure that it works that way. That is, if I were putting in way more pressure than the system is used to, the brakes should lock up, or at least get really stiff immediately.

Instead I get a feeling that the return spring is the only resistance I'm getting.

I'm wondering if my actuating rod and clevis pin is *way* too long.
I recall when I removed the 1800 booster from the clevis, the actuating rod was under tension. That is, it felt like the rod was being pulled towards the firewall even when the system was at rest...

The canister may have been under negative pressure at rest, even without an engine present.

I'll probably try shortening the clevis before I post on it again.
