buying a 240 200 1989

hey guys, im RJ and im new here. i am looking to buy a 1989 240 wagon that is forsale about 50 miles from me. i am going to check it out monday night with cash in hand.

the car : automatic tranny, 153,000 miles, a/c compressor was replaced last summer, car looks clean, owner claims to have maintance records since new (from himself and previus owners), claims less then normal exterior and interior wear and mechanically sound. asking price is 2500 o.b.o.

what i am trying to find out is if that price sounds about right?

what areas should i really check over? are there certian things to look for when buying a used 240? any signs of the motor, tranny, rear end needing a rebuild?

thank you very much for your time

RJ
