'84 240 headlights, backlights, and dashlights out 200 1984

Lola, my 1984 240 DL, has always had a wire loose (or soemthing). I had the same probelm a couple years ago but of course I didn't pay attention to the problem or solution when it was fixed. I guess, better late than never in learning about my car. Anyway, I have replaced the fuses and the bulbs associated with these elements and still no juice. I apologize for the naivete, but I wonder if anyone can point out some home solutions that I can try before I have a mechanic charge me and arm and leg for, potentially just a loose wire.
Thank you very much for your assistance.

Also, anyone no any old Volvo experts in the Dallas area. Just moved here and need a little help.

double thanks
m
