New 'Universal' seat belts...are they as trustworthy as used OEM?? 700

I just ordered a pair of front "Universal" seat belts from an outfit on eBay. Cost was $80 plus shipping. I can return them OK.This is for daughter's 92 740 which has the SIPS package with airbag. This OEM design is for a pyrotechic device to lock the OEM belt if the airbag deploys, and not letting it roll out anymore, thus making the replacement of the OEM belt necessary.
Cost of 2 new belts plus airbag is about $2000.
Both belts still work, still roll out but the passenger buckle's not working correctly.
Should I make the 300 mile trip to Houston/San Antonio to the PNP's and get a set of belts off an uncrashed 92 740 (or maybe later model 940)?
I'm worried about safety and am rethinking the "Universal" sets integrity in a crash.
Gracias,
