740 engine swap HELP 700 1990

hi all swapping a single cam engine into a twin cam car. noticed that on the fly wheel there's this ring around the out edges that ha sall these holes in it (58 of em) and then a spot big enough for 2 holes but it's solid. the engine i'm installing came out of car w/man trany. the fly wheel came out of a twin cam that died. these little hole's pass under a sensor on the back of the engine, i told that's the crank position sensor. hoe do i align this thing. there's a pick in my 240 haynse manual but i can't get mine in that position. they mention something about some pins. tried to post pics but it won't let me
