CD Changer install 900 1995

I have a sc811 in my 960, and I have a volvo oem cd changer which didn't come in the car (part#9148636-9443) I have plug the cd chgr into the cable coming fm the radio, but the chgr fail to respond. Its a 7 pin din with an 2 pin plug in also. What am I doing wrong.
